Mari & Håkon Samuelsen, violin & cello duo (Norway)
Norwegian violin and cello duo Mari and Håkon Samuelsen come to Galway to brighten up the evening with a programme specially put together for Music for Galway and Arts in Action featuring a mix of solo pieces and duos for violin and cello on Thursday 12 November at 8pm.
Classical Christmas concert in Vang Church, Hamar, Norway
Since 2004, Mari Silje and Håkon Samuelsen's Classical Christmas concert is held in December in Vang Church in Hamar. The two young musicians have the artistic responsibility and are also performing as soloists in the concert. They've had world-famous soloists as their guests every year and have created a tradition of Hedmarken.
The motivation for establishing this concert springs from Mari Silje and Håkon's desire to give something back to their own region. They have both received numerous awards and received invaluable support from the business sector in the region. Many of these supporters also helps that the concert can be carried out each year. Mari Silje and Håkon has been able to get very good fellow players and soloists for the concerts in Vang church. Their thinking has always been to play on their network in the international music industry and invite them to the concert.
The concerts soloists are a large number of highly profiled musicians.
