The Ivys is the student house on College Road where the kitchen is filthy and no one knows exactly who that is sleeping on the couch. The house is shared by:

SAM: General good guy. Coming from a big family, he can’t resist helping people out, despite the trouble he lands in.

FIONN: Is currently on the couch. He’s openly gay, with a drug habit and an even more toxic habit of sleeping with people he shouldn’t.

MARTIN: The student from Limerick with a shady past. Why is he so annoyed about having to do another semester?

ASHLING: Has been seen on TV3 clashing with Gardaí at Shell to Sea demonstrations. She has an odd suspicion she has seen her father around campus, but has no idea what he’s doing there.

ANGELA: Should have moved out years ago. She’s a computer geek who uses technology to keep tabs on all the others.

Further along the road is Kelly’s Shop, where Sinn Féin member Pat Kelly employs the beautiful Polish Anna Maria.

She shares a house with her over-protective brother Kristof and Gaelgóir Baba.

Then there’s Doherty’s B&B. No one knows what happened to Helen’s husband but there’s a rumour she and Kelly have a past.
